  1. V4 style update has much heel notch padding; gave me blisters The style update “V4” of this shoe has much less padding around the heel notch (top of the rear heel) than the prior versions. It’s a shame because I loved prior versions of this shoe (this is my fourth pair of MX608) but the new V4 design gave me blisters at the top of my heel the first time I wore it for a long walk because the rear edge of the shoe is so sharp. Because this became apparent only after longer use I felt I could not return the shoe, but I am giving them away…

The assumption is that these are genuine New Balance training shoes, no different than if you went to your local mall and purchased them from a reputable sporting goods store. False! These are genuine knock offs plain and simple. My family lived in South Korea for several years and you could get this same cheap quality in Itaewon-dong for a very inexpensive price.   3. Comfortable Shoe, Bad Manufacturing QA, Unclear Warranty Support. It is a nice and comfortable shoe with limited heel lateral support, however, the Quality Assurance of New Balance manufacturing line is disappointing. I was able to wear this shoe twice for a total of 10 hours before the stitches in the front toe panel started to collapse. Looking closely, you can easily see that there was not enough material to sustain said stitches, and most likely several of them were already detached right out of the box.
