  1. Hint: Turn OFF Smart Picture Mode Hint: Turn off Smart Picture Mode and then turn the Energy Saver OFF. With Smart Picture Mode on and no access to Energy Saver setting, the picture was very dull and drab. Energy Saver reduces the backlight to save energy but at the cost of poor picture quality. After making this change, the TV picture was very bright and sharp with great detail.

  2. TV Great, TruMotion Bad! Now that I found the TruMotion setting so that I could turn it off, I really like this TV. It took awhile to find the right settings so it didn’t look washed out. Energy saver mode was causing most of the problems. The TruMotion setting makes 24fps movies look like 30fps home movies, otherwise known as “Soap Opera Effect.” I watched Braveheart with it on and it was awful. I Spent most of the movie looking through the settings trying to find it. (It’s in Picture Options).

WARNING: LG DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY… I decided to purchase an LG 65″ 4K LED TV after 2 years of searching, after deciding it had the sharpest, clearest, most detailed picture of the 3 final brands I had finally narrowed it down to. With the Winter Olympics starting in about 2 weeks, I wanted to have my new TV set up and ready to enjoy the Olympics this time in as lifelike detail on a large screen TV as I could within my financial means.
