Knight posted a video of her proposal to fellow Olympian Brittany Bowe Wednesday, using a slim silver-colored ring.
“Olympics brought us together,” Knight captioned the post. “This one made us forever”
Knight is the captain of the U.S. women’s hockey team, which is expected to compete Thursday in the gold medal match against Canada. She is also tied for the most Olympic hockey goals by a single athlete in U.S. women’s hockey Olympic history, with the chance to break the record during the championship game.
Bowe, now her fiancee, is a speed skater who won back-to-back bronze medals in the 2018 and 2022 Olympics.
The pair began dating after growing closer during the 2022 Games in Beijing.
“It was just a really good way to get to know her, going for walks, getting out of our suites,” Knight told Olympics.com. “To have that human connection, even walking outside at a distance, it was really cool.”
Knight and Bowe’s engagement is the second for Team USA at this year’s Games.
On Thursday, Feb. 12, Olympic gold medalist Breezy Johnson accepted a proposal from her longtime boyfriend Connor Watkins after her final event.
Watkins proposed to her near the finish line while surrounded by members of the U.S. Ski Team.
Reciting lyrics from the Taylor Swift song “Alchemy,” Watkins slipped a ring of blue and white sapphires set in white gold on the ring finger of Johnson’s left hand. She tearfully accepted, then turned the ring toward the sea of cameras to celebrate a dream that turned into reality.
