OREO reveals nine new types of cookies, including the return of a fan favorite

WASHINGTON — OREO is ending the year big, announcing a major product rollout that includes the return of a long-requested fan favorite. 

Mondelez, the creator of the iconic sandwich cookie, announced a lineup of nine new OREO products this week, including a number of permanent additions as well as some limited-time releases. Offerings ranging from muffins and cake treats to minis and cross-brand collaborations.

The new products will roll out nationwide between December 2025 and January 2026, with select items available for a limited time while supplies last. 

The rollout follows last week’s announcement of OREO Zero Sugar Cookies and includes the return of Cookie Dough OREOs for the first time in more than a decade.

The Cookie Dough OREO, last seen in 2014, will hit shelves nationwide on Dec. 22 for a limited time. 

This version features cookie dough-flavored creme with chocolate chip inclusions sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies, a notable shift from the original, which used classic chocolate OREO wafers.

Several new items will become permanent fixtures in the OREO lineup beginning in December, including:

• OREO Muffins
• OREO Cakesters Confetti Cake
• OREO THINS Chocolate Ganache
• OREO Minis Chocolate Creme

In January, OREO will launch expanded packaging options for Golden OREO Minis and OREO Minis Peanut Butter, along with the launch of OREO REESE’S Cookies, a new permanent collaboration featuring peanut buttery creme with OREO cookie crumbs.

As previously announced, OREO will debut its Zero Sugar Cookies at the top of the year. 

The cookies, available in regular and “double stuff” varieties, will be permanent additions to the brand’s portfolio and are not limited-time offers, according to Tuesday’s announcement. 

Sugar-free Oreo versions have previously been launched in Europe and China.
