Singer Pink spends New Year’s Eve in hospital

WASHINGTON — Singer P!nk, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, shared a selfie from the hospital Wednesday, wishing her fans a happy new year. 

The photo, a picture of Moore, 46, smiling at the camera in a hospital bed wearing a hospital gown and a bandage on her neck, was posted to her Instagram account just before the new year. 

She spent New Year’s Eve and the start of 2026 in the hospital “fixing” her body with “two new shiny discs” in her neck. 

“A new scar, a new reminder, that I appreciate this vessel that I have and use it for all it’s worth,” she continued. “Rock ‘n’ roll is a contact sport.”

Her post included a lengthy caption recalling memories from 2025 and what she hopes to happen in the new year after a 2025 that “ran the spectrum from absolutely devastating to mildly annoying.”

“I said goodbye to incredibly important people, and I said hello to new ones. I’ve realized dreams this year, as well as nightmares,” she wrote. “I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the choice that I have made. I hope and pray every person can make that wish, have that choice.”

She said her family spent the new year “happily snowboarding” while she was in the hospital. 

Moore encouraged fans to keep positive in the new year like she intended. 

“Let’s do better for ourselves and for others. Let’s not be afraid to take care of ourselves and others,” she wrote. “I choose joy and I leave behind the hurt. I’m going to choose positive thoughts over negative ones. And I’m going to rage against the dying of the light. I’m going to reclaim my wild. And I’m going to keep searching for the light, even as I experience the darkness. #onwardsand upwards as my father used to say.”

Fans flooded the comments and racked up more than 500,000 likes on the post in 24 hours.
