WASHINGTON — Several cottage cheese products sold under Walmart’s Great Value brand are under recall over a possible health risk.
The Food and Drug Administration issued a recall alert on Wednesday, warning consumers about cottage cheese products that may contain liquid dairy ingredients that may not meet state regulatory pasteurization standards. Saputo Cheese USA Inc. said that there are no illnesses or hospitalizations to date associated with the recall.

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. said the issue was flagged during pasteurizer troubleshooting exercises conducted by the company and the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The manufacturer said the pasteurizer was returned to normal and that no other products were affected.
The recalled products were sold and distributed to Walmart stores in 24 states between Feb. 17 and Feb. 20. Here are the states impacted: Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and Wyoming

The products were sold in white plastic tubs with white lids, according to the notice. The “Best By” dates are on the side of the lids.
