A Short Film Built on Fear, Misunderstanding, and Split-Second Judgment

Sweet and Tender, a new Atlanta-based psychological thriller, will premiere on Friday, May 15 at Seven Stages Theatre as part of the 9:30 PM screening block during Atlanta Shortsfest.

Running under 10 minutes, the film delivers a tight, claustrophobic story designed for late-night audiences. Inside a confined restroom stall, a man overhears a conversation he believes points to something far more sinister. As fear builds, the film explores how quickly perception can become dangerous when someone acts on incomplete understanding.

Directed by Colombian filmmaker Alexandros Zambrano, also known as Alekos, the film features a diverse local cast and brings a bold, suspense-driven story to Atlanta’s independent film scene.

What if everything you heard was real — but you still misunderstood it?

Atlanta Talent, Latino Creative Vision, and a Story That Builds Fast

Sweet and Tender uses a simple but powerful setup: one location, one dangerous assumption, and a rising sense of dread. The film leans into suspense, human instinct, and the unsettling feeling of being trapped with only fragments of the truth.

The production includes Puerto Rican actor Jacob Arundell, seen behind the scenes getting miked up for filming, along with director Alekos during one of the takes. These behind-the-scenes moments give audiences a closer look at Atlanta’s growing independent film community.
