Dunkin’ is testing 48-ounce beverage buckets at a handful of stores, offering oversized iced coffee, lattes and Refreshers as social media buzz grows.
WASHINGTON — Some Dunkin’ fans may soon be able to check a supersized drink off their bucket list.
Posts circulating on social media show 48-ounce beverage buckets being sold at select Dunkin’ locations, sparking millions of views and plenty of debate online.
Dunkin’ confirmed to NBC News that it is testing the oversized drink buckets at five locations; three in New Hampshire and two in Massachusetts. The company has not announced a nationwide rollout.
The 48-ounce buckets can be filled with iced coffee, iced lattes or Dunkin’ Refreshers. Featured flavors include Blueberry Cobbler Iced Latte, Caramel Coco Iced Coffee and Strawberry Dragonfruit Lemonade Refresher.
For comparison, a large Dunkin’ iced coffee is 32 ounces. Dunkin’ has not publicly listed pricing for the buckets and is not actively promoting the limited test. But if social media reaction is any indication, customers are already eager for wider availability.
“My new favorite purchase,” one TikTok user wrote after trying the bucket. Others expressed enthusiasm on X, with one user posting, “SIGN ME UP RIGHT NOW!!!!”
But not everyone is convinced. Some social media users questioned the health impacts of drinking the amount of caffeine and sugar that’s in a 48-ounce drink.
It’s not the first time Dunkin’ has leaned into bucket-sized promotions. The chain has previously sold Halloween Munchkins buckets filled with 50 doughnut holes and also offered summer-themed beach buckets packed with Munchkins.
For now, though, the coffee buckets remain a limited test, leaving many fans hoping Dunkin’ decides to “go big or go home” nationwide.
