Danger Alert!  Atlanta United Wins Again

Atlanta Wins Third in a Row

Mercedes-Benz Stadium – Dear Eastern Conference, beware.  Atlanta United is back.  A team that seemed rudderless, lacking energy and spark, has re-found its love and passion for the game.

Atlanta looked fast and aggressive from the start.  It controlled pace and possession.  Atlanta had 21 shots and held possession for over 63% of the match.

The Man of the Match, Ezequiel Barco scored the winning goal in the 20’.  He received a long pass from Brooks Lennon, then pivoted near the edge of the box, and lofted a shot over the goal keepers head, finding the side of the net.  It was Barco’s fourth goal of the year and Lennon’s team-leading fourth assist.

That was all Atlanta would need.  The defense was stout.  Brad Guzan had three saves in recording his fifth shutout of the year.

After winning only two matches in its first seventeen, Atlanta has now won three in a row.  It is creeping closer and closer to a playoff spot.
