Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert welcome first baby together

WASHINGTON — Derek Hough is officially a father! 

The “Dancing with the Stars” judge and his wife, Hayley Erbert Hough, welcomed a baby girl on Dec. 29. The couple shared the news on Monday and revealed the baby’s name, along with a black-and-white photo of their hands around the baby’s feet. 

“Everley Capri Hough 🤍,” the joint Instagram post read. “Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.” 

“Welcome to the world sweet angel Everley,” Julianne Hough, Derek’s sister, said on Instagram. 

The pair first revealed they were expecting in July 2025 in a video shared on Instagram. Hough and Erbert tied the knot in 2023. 

“We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small ♥️,” the couple said at the time on Instagram. 

The couple became parents two years after Erbert underwent an emergency craniectomy following a cranial hematoma diagnosis. A craniectomy is a type of surgery to remove a portion of a person’s skull to help relieve extra pressure on the brain, according to Cedars-Sinai. 

Last month, Erbert reflected on getting a “second chance at life” with the surgery. 

“In these two years, I’ve gone through every human emotion imaginable, the kind that cracks you open and the kind that puts you back together. I’ve reclaimed parts of myself I thought I’d never find again, rediscovered who I am, and moved through seasons of loss, triumph, joy, endless fear, grief, healing, and quiet hope,” she wrote on Instagram. “It was a whirlwind to say the least.. But I’m truly grateful for it all, and so incredibly proud of myself and my body for everything it has endured. What a miracle it is that two years ago I was fighting for my life… and now, here I am creating life.”
