ATLANTA — Atlanta Falcons legend Warrick Dunn delivered a life-changing surprise for a single mom in Atlanta while marking a significant milestone.
On Dec. 16, the former running back and Aaron’s furniture store surprised the mom, a new homeowner courtesy of Habitat for Humanity, with a fully furnished home.
This marked the 250th new home that Dunn has fully furnished under his non-profit Warrick Dunn Charities. This organization identifies single parents and helps them achieve their goal of first-time homeownership as part of its “Home for the Holidays program.”
Dunn started the program during his rookie season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the very first home celebration took place 28 years ago in Tampa.
The new home was earned and financed through Habitat for Humanity, and with the help of Aaron’s, Dunn’s foundation furnishes them, providing $10,000 worth of furniture, electronics, and appliances.
The foundation, with the support of philanthropist Ryan Jumonville, also provides $5,000 in down-payment assistance.
