The classic studio version of the song debuted in the Billboard Hot 100 this week after it was featured in the series finale of “Stranger Things.”

WASHINGTON — The Fleetwood Mac classic “Landslide” made its debut this week on the Billboard Top 100 after the song was featured in the series finale of the Netflix show “Stranger Things.”

The classic studio version of “Landslide” came out in 1975 – marking 50 years between its release and debut on the Billboard chart.

The song landed at No. 41 on the Jan. 17-dated Hot 100 chart, according to Billboard. It generated 7 million official U.S. streams (up 43% week over week), 888,000 radio audience impressions (up 10%) and 1,000 downloads sold (up 15%) between Jan. 2 and 8, Billboard said.

The “Stranger Things” series finale, which included the song, was released on Dec. 31.

“Landslide” was on Fleetwood Mac’s self-titled 10th studio album, featuring vocals by Stevie Nicks, but was never issued as an official single during its original run.

A live version was released as a single in 1997 and debuted on the Hot 100 in July 1998, peaking at No. 51, Billboard said.

Cover versions of the song have also charted over the years, including The Chicks’ version in 2003 (peaking at No. 7) and the “Glee” version sung by Gwyneth Paltrow in 2011 (peaking at No. 23).

This marks Fleetwood Mac’s 26th entry on the Hot 100, Billboard said. The band has debuted on the Hot 100 in five decades: the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, 2000s and ’20s.

It’s not the first time the band has seen a resurgence of one of its songs. In 2020, its 1977 hit “Dreams” re-entered the Hot 100 after a viral TikTok video and peaked at No. 12 in October of that year.
