Frozen dessert pints recalled because they may contain ‘small stones’

WASHINGTON — A dairy-free frozen dessert is under recall as it may contain foreign materials, such as small stones or other hard objects, the FDA warned Monday.

Danone U.S. is recalling select pints of its So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert due to the potential presence of foreign materials within the cashew inclusions. The voluntary recall was initiated on Monday and affects pints with best-by expiration dates before Aug. 8, 2027. 

The dessert pints were sold at retail stores nationwide, according to the Dec. 15 notice. 

The recalled frozen dessert pints are identified by the SKU code 136603 and the UPC number 744473476138. No other So Delicious Dairy Free flavors or products are impacted by the recall, according to the company. 

So Delicious Dairy Free said it was working to remove the impacted products from store shelves. 

“The FDA has been informed of this voluntary recall and So Delicious Dairy Free is working swiftly with retail partners to remove the potentially impacted product from shelves,” So Delicious said on the FAQ section of its website. ” In the meantime, the company has already identified and corrected this issue and will soon be able to bring back the frozen dessert so many people enjoy.”

No information on illnesses or adverse reactions in relation to the recall was provided. 

Consumers who have purchased the recalled items should not eat the frozen desserts and should discard them immediately. For refunds, the company urges consumers to contact So Delicious Dairy Free Care Line at 1-833-367-8975. Customer care specialists will be available Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
