Girl Scout Cookie season is officially here. Here’s what to know about the 2026 flavors

WASHINGTON — Girl Scout Cookie season has officially kicked off for 2026. 

The organization announced the start of the season on Tuesday. 

“The wait is over folks… The 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Season is HERE!” Girl Scouts USA said on Facebook. 

With the new season comes the debut of the latest cookie flavor: Exploremores.

Last year, Girl Scouts of the USA announced the new flavor, a rocky road ice cream-inspired sandwich cookie filled with chocolate, marshmallow and toasted almond-flavored creme. The new flavor will be sold nationwide, both online and at local cookie booths, alongside popular classics like Thin Mints and Samoas/Caramel deLites.

“Exploremores reflect the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout,” the organization said at the time.

The new cookie arrives shortly after Girl Scouts of the USA retired two cookie flavors during the 2025 season. Fans of S’mores and Toast-Yay will not be able to find the two flavors during the upcoming season. 

Each season, cookie sales help girls develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills while funding troop activities and community programs. Proceeds stay local to support councils and troops.

The upcoming season also includes a new corporate partner. Adobe will serve as a national sponsor of the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Program, encouraging girls to “to express their individuality and think creatively to advance their goals this Girl Scout Cookie season.”

Girl Scout Cookie season typically runs from January through April, though timing can vary by location. Cookie fans can sign up at girlscoutcookies.org to be notified when sales begin in their area or text “Cookies” to 59618 for updates.

While Girl Scout Cookie Season officially begins on Jan. 6, every council opens at its own time, according to the organization. The easiest way to find out whether the Girl Scouts have reached your area is to enter your zip code into the Cookie Finder box at the top of the Girl Scouts website. 

• Girl Scout cookie prices typically range from $5 to $7 per box, depending on where you live. Each Girl Scout council sets the price for troops under them.
