Graco recalls some rotating car seats after finding ‘structural issues’

WASHINGTON — Graco Children’s Products announced a recall of a “limited” number of SnugRide Turn & Slide products after finding structural issues during post-production testing, according to a recall alert. 

“We know parents rely on Graco products every day, and we understand this may create frustration and disruption for families,” the recall, posted Monday, said. “We are working quickly to support affected families and will provide a replacement product at no cost.”

The SnugRide Turn & Slide products include: the infant car seats, car seat base and travel system (which works with a stroller, which is not impacted in the recall). 

The products were sold in the United States on or at Amazon, Babylist, Target, Walmart and GracoBaby.com from January through March. 

EasyTurn, Turn2Me and all other SnugRide models are not impacted in this recall.

• Product: Car Seat Base, Affected Model Number(s): 2231810 Black
• Product: Travel System, Affected Model Number(s): 2243083 Noir / Black

1. Review the product images on the recall page to confirm that you have a SnugRide Turn & Slide product.
2. Locate the model number on the product label.
3. Enter the model number on the recall page. 
4. Enter the serial number to help confirm your product details. The serial number is the five digit number listed on the label under the Date of Manufacture.

Customers with the product are encouraged to immediately stop using the base, but “the current seat may continue to be used without the base in accordance with the product instructions while you wait for your selected replacement product,” according to the recall.
