NFL players get bigger paychecks the further they advance into the playoffs. Here’s a breakdown of how much they get for each round, including the Super Bowl.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Being in the Super Bowl brings NFL players to the nationwide center stage with a hefty paycheck.

While players may dream of winning the Vince Lombardi trophy, playing in the championship comes with that guaranteed bonus paycheck. Win or lose, players will earn a six-figure check.

Even players who didn’t make the Super Bowl could earn tens of thousands of dollars on top of their salary depending on how far their team made it in the playoffs.

Do players get paid extra for the Super Bowl?

How much an NFL player gets paid for playing in the Super Bowl depends on if their team wins. But whether these teams win or lose, their players will still get paid tens of thousands of dollars.

Based on the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement, players on the winning team in Super Bowl 60 will get $178,000 each. Players on the losing team will get $103,000. That’s $7,000 more than last year and the first time the losing team cracked six-figures.

Next year will go up by $10,000 for both the winning and losing team.
