VALDOSTA, Ga. — A brief lockdown was lifted and an all-clear was given at Moody Air Force Base in south Georgia on Tuesday morning after a security alert went out for a “potential concern.”
It remains unclear exactly what triggered the alert, which was posted to Moody’s Facebook page at 10:34 a.m. The all-clear notice was posted 11 minutes later at 10:45 a.m.
The original alert post said lockdown was initiated at 10 a.m. as “security personnel investigate a potential concern.” No further details were give on what that concern might have been.
“Out of an abundance of caution, base access and movement have been restricted until the situation is resolved,” the original message said.
The base is home to the famed 23rd Wing “Flying Tigers” unit.
