‘Love Island USA’s Chelley Bissainthe announces breakup with Ace Greene

WASHINGTON — Chelley Bissainthe and Ace Greene, the Season 7 “Love Island USA” contestants, announced they broke up in a soon to release radio show. 

Bissainthe spoke to SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio and broke the news of their recent development in a teaser Friday, but the full episode will release Monday. 

She started answering the host’s questions by sad Greene was doing good, but shutdown the idea of the duo moving in together. 

“Ace and I actually decided to part ways,” she said in the interview. “It really was a tough decision for the both of us.”

The duo was the only couple to maintain a relationship throughout most of the reality TV show, which strips contestants of their phones and connection with the outside world in hopes to find love. 

The season aired in June and finished a few months later in August. The couple was voted off the island ahead of the season finale. 

She said their feelings are mutual, on the same page and peaceful. 

“Sometimes the best thing to do is make a decision that needs to be made,” she said. “We had a lot of conversation. At the end of the day, it was a mutual agreement that this was for the best.”

She said out of respect for herself and Greene, details about the relationship and what led to it ending will be limited. 

“I think we’re put on this earth to experience people, so who knows how long that experience could last,” she said. “Sometimes we want it to last a lifetime and sometimes it’s just for that moment in time, you know? So, it’s very grateful nonetheless and at the end of the day, I wish Ace the best and for myself, I’m like, ‘Okay, I just have to focus, healing, growth, what’s next?'” 

Neither Greene nor Bissainthe have posted or commented publicly beyond the radio appearance. The full interview will air Monday, Dec. 15 on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio.
