Due to the fall and injury hazard, customers are asked to return the folding rocker chairs to any Academy Sports + Outdoors store for a full refund.
WASHINGTON — More than 35,000 outdoor rocker chairs were recalled after Academy Sports + Outdoors received a report of the legs breaking.
While one report said the chair’s legs broke, no one was injured, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall.
The chairs, Magellan-branded Odyssey Rocker Chairs, were sold at Academy Sports + Outdoors locations nationwide from September through October 2025. They sold for about $50.
Due to the fall and injury hazard, customers are asked to return the folding rocker chairs to any Academy Sports + Outdoors store for a full refund. If customers are unable to go to the store, they can contact one and return it by mail at no cost, according to the recall.
The chairs came in charcoal, navy, olive green and teal and have the Magellan Outdoors logo printed on the front of the backrest. Any chair with codes “ACADEMY, LTD,” “177296” and a manufacture date between July through August 2025 are included in the recall. The code can be found on a label sewn on the side of the chair.
The chair also features a cup holder on the side and measures roughly 25.2 inches long by 5.5 inches deep by 37.4 inches high when folded, or 25.4 inches long by 25.2 inches deep by 37.4 inches high when opened, according to the recall.
