Both events were moved to Friday, Feb. 20.

WASHINGTON — Two Winter Games events scheduled for Thursday morning were postponed due to heavy snow in Livigno, where the snowboard and freestyle competitions are being held.

The men’s freestyle ski halfpipe qualification runs and the men’s aerials qualifiers and final competition were rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 20, according to the Olympics’ website.

The women’s halfpipe qualification event, scheduled to take place at the same park Thursday afternoon, remained on schedule as of 6:30 a.m. Eastern.

The winter storm was expected to dump more than 6 inches of fresh snow in the Livigno region, but weather conditions were expected to improve by Friday.

Four Americans will have another day to prepare for the men’s aerials event. They are Christopher Lillis, Quinn Dehlinger, Derek Krueger and Connor Curran.

Team USA’s Birk Irving, Hunter Hess, Nick Goepper and Alex Ferreira will need to wait a bit longer for their attempt to qualify for the men’s freestyle skiing halfpipe medal event.

This isn’t the first weather delay at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics.

On Tuesday, Olympics organizers decided to postpone the women’s snowboard slopestyle medal event and the start of the freestyle aerials due to heavy snow.

All Winter Games events are scheduled to wrap up on Sunday.
