Metallica announces Las Vegas Sphere residency

LAS VEGAS — Metallica is headed to Vegas for a residency at the Sphere! The band will debut its “Life Burns Faster” residency this fall.

The eight-show run is scheduled for Oct. 1 and 3, Oct. 15 and 17, Oct. 22 and 24, and Oct. 29 and 31, 2026. Each pair of shows will follow the band’s “No Repeat Weekend” format, meaning fans who attend both nights will hear completely different setlists.

According to the band, the residency will feature songs spanning Metallica’s catalog alongside the venue’s immersive technology, including a wraparound LED display, spatial audio and multi-sensory effects.

“This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with you guys in a live setting, and we can’t wait to see you there,” the statement read.

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said the band was inspired to perform at Sphere after seeing U2’s shows at the venue in 2023.

“About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ’23, I thought ‘We have to do this,’” Ulrich said in a statement. “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting.”

The band’s “No Repeat Weekend” tradition, where setlists change entirely between paired concerts, began during its M72 World Tour.

Two-night “No Repeat Weekend” ticket packages and single-night tickets go on sale March 6 at 10 a.m. PT.

Several presales will take place beforehand, including fan club and artist presales beginning March 2.

Fans can also purchase premium ticket options, including VIP experiences, travel packages and a multi-show “Full House” pass that includes access to all eight Sphere performances.

Travel packages include hotel stays, merchandise and concierge service. Additional details are available through Metallica’s official ticketing channels.
