Mickey Rourke said a fundraiser was made without his consent and called it “humiliating.”

LOS ANGELES — Actor and former boxer Mickey Rourke said a fundraiser taking donations to help keep him from being evicted from his Los Angeles home is “humiliating.”

The fundraiser, which raised nearly $94,000 in a week, said it’s intention was to “give Mickey stability and peace of mind during an extremely stressful time—so he can stay in his home and have the space to get back on his feet.”

“The Wrestler” actor, whose legal name is Philip Andre Rourke Jr., said he doesn’t understand what the fundraiser is, who made it or why it was made.

“Listen, I’ve done a terrible job at managing my career,” he said in a five-minute long video posted to his Instagram account and continued, “I wouldn’t do it this way, I got too much pride. This ain’t my style.”

Rourke, 73, was evicted after allegedly owing his landlord nearly $60,000 in past-due rent on his Los Angeles home, according to PEOPLE

Rourke admitted to not paying his rent due to a variety of alleged issues, but said he wouldn’t ask for “charity.”

“It’s humiliating,” he said in the video while holding his dog Lucky while other dogs barked in the background. “I would never ask strangers or fans for a nickel. I mean, it’s not my style.”

TMZ reported Rourke was staying in a West Hollywood hotel with his three dogs and would soon move into a new Los Angeles apartment.

“Mickey Rourke is an icon — but his trajectory, as painful as it is, is also a deeply human one. It is the story of someone who gave everything to his work, took real risks, and paid real costs. Fame does not protect against hardship, and talent does not guarantee stability,” the fundraiser, which has now paused taking donations, read.

Rourke threatened to contact his lawyer to “get to the bottom of this.”

The fundraiser is not taking anymore donations at this time and a Thursday update on the page said “we remain committed to finding a resolution and are working with Mickey to determine the next steps.”

Rourke encouraged people to get a refund however they could.

“I don’t want anybody’s money. I don’t want anybody to send me money. I want you to get your money back,” he said. “It is embarrassing, but you know, I’m sure I’ll get over it like anything else, like everything else.”
