More than 60K pounds of cooked chicken recalled due to undeclared allergen

WASHINGTON — More than 60,000 pounds of fully cooked, bone-in, breaded chicken are under recall due to an undeclared allergen. 

Suzanna’s Kitchen, a Georgia-based company, is recalling about 62,550 pounds of the chicken products due to a labeling error and an undeclared allergen, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Services. The chicken products contain soy and are not declared on the product label, the notice posted on Dec. 12 said.  

The recalled chicken products were shipped to restaurant locations nationwide. 

The company reported the issue to FSIS after finding that a chicken product containing soy had been mislabeled with a non-allergen-containing product code. According to the notice, there have been no confirmed reports of illnesses or reactions to these recalled products. 

The 8-piece cut, bone-in breaded chicken portions were produced on Oct. 16, 2025. They come in 18-pound cases containing four units of “FULLY COOKED BREADED CHICKEN PORTIONS.” 

The recalled items are identified by the case code “P-1380 126237 B30851 23:11 K04” printed on the side of the packaging. The chicken products have the USDA mark of inspection on the label under the number P-1380. 

The USDA’s food inspection agency urged restaurants to check their freezers and refrigerators for the recalled chicken. Should they find the recalled products, restaurants are advised not to serve the chicken portions and throw them away.
