The technology company deals with database software and cloud computing. In recent months, Oracle has ramped up efforts to develop infrastructure and software to support artificial intelligence.
CNBC reported that Oracle employed 162,000 people as of May 2025.
This isn’t the first round of tech layoffs in 2026. Back in January, both Meta and Amazon announced they were cutting over 16,000 jobs in their latest rounds of layoffs.
Just last week, Epic Games announced they will lay off more than 1,000 employees.
Just yesterday, Oracle posted on X about its rapid progress on its Michigan data center. The post talked about working with OpenAI and Bank of America to build America’s AI infrastructure and invest in the local community.
