Pitbull aims to set a Guinness World Record during his July 10 concert at BST Hyde Park in London.
WASHINGTON — The internationally acclaimed rapper and singer-songwriter Pitbull is trying to break the Guinness World Record for the “largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.”
The official attempt will take place Friday, July 10 where he will headline at BST Hyde Park London in the United Kingdom.
“I just wanna let y’all know that every time you put on that bald cap, you know you’re about to have the time of your lives,” Pitbull, who is also known as “Mr. Worldwide,” said in a statement. “I appreciate the love, I appreciate the commitment, I appreciate the support and more than anything, I just want to say thank you. Dale!”
The 45-year-old “Fireball” singer is famously bald and typically wears sunglasses and a suit while he performs. Fans have routinely worn bald caps and full suits and painted on facial hair to mimic the singer while attending his concerts.
Anyone attending the show, and subsequently the official World Record attempt, is asked to wear bald caps “secured firmly on the head, with hair tucked under at the front and top (hair may hang from the back).”
Kesha will also be a special guest during the show. The two previously worked together on their 2013 hit song “Timber.” The full lineup has not been announced yet, according to BST Hyde Park’s website. Tickets for the concert are available.
The series of concerts will also feature Garth Brooks, Maroon 5, Mumford & Sons and Lewis Capaldi over the weekend.
The concert is one of many stops on Pitbull’s latest “I’m Back” tour. He will also stop in 35 cities in North America after performing for 16 nights in Europe.
Pitbull has had numerous No. 1 hits in his career, such as “Give Me Everything” with Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer, “Fireball,” “Hotel Room Service,” “Feel This Moment” with Christina Aguilera and “Timber” with Kesha. Pitbull has made more than $250 million and sold more than 4.7 million tickets globally throughout his career, according to Billboard.
