Post Malone postponed his 2026 tour’s start to finish his upcoming album.
WASHINGTON — Singer, songwriter Post Malone said he is canceling the first few weeks of his rapidly approaching tour to give himself time to finish his new album.
Austin Richard Post, also known by his stage name Post Malone, announced the schedule change Friday on his social media in a now expired Instagram story.
“Looking at the upcoming schedule after stagecoach, I came to the realization that what we were trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up,” he wrote. “Truth is, I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts.”
His tour, with fellow singer Jelly Roll, was set to begin May 13 in El Paso, Texas, but will now start June 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In addition to the start being delayed, six dates were entirely canceled. This includes shows in El Paso and Waco, Texas; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Birmingham, Alabama; Tampa, Florida; and Oxford, Mississippi.
While Post did not include mention of refunds, Ticketmaster will issue them to the original ticket holder within the next two to three weeks. No action needs to be taken by fans whose shows were canceled.
See below for updated tour dates.
The tour was planned to make stops at many high-profile college stadiums across the U.S., including Iowa State’s Jack Trice Stadium, LSU’s Tiger Stadium, Ole Miss’s Vaught-Hemingway Stadium and many more.
He will still perform at two festivals in May and another mere days before his tour begins.
“I’m so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y’all,” Post Malone wrote.
His upcoming album, teased to be a double titled “The Eternal Buzz,” will feature 40 currently unnamed tracks.
