Moving memorial to those that impacted the world through their unique expressions Some books to the reader are holy; this one is so to me. As an artist and author (excited to purchase DK’s Writers book on 9/11/2018), I find this text to be an illuminating glimpse at the lives of some very influential and interesting artists over time. For Art lovers, with an appeal to others slightly less so This book exceeded my expectation with the information it contains. It is an impressive looking book and the content was beautifully presented and written. I had purchased the book as a gift and almost kept it. Again purchasing it as a gift to another friend, and will get one for myself too!
Breathtaking full-page photos; adequate summaries of artists’ lives The full-page prints of artworks are stunning. The book does a phenomenal job of presenting a “who’s who” of influential artitsts of the Western world and even includes a few Asian artists besides Hokusai. It is a great intro for a casual fan of painters and sculptors.
