During the advent season, the tradition of the Jesse Tree is the perfect way to countdown the days until Christmas. This ornament set was designed to correspond with the readings from the book, The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones (please note, the book is not included). This holiday tradition is a wonderful way to engage and educate kids of all ages and it helps to keep Jesus at the center of the season.
Our Jesse Tree ornament sets are to be used in the same way you would use a traditional Christmas advent calendar. There is an ornament for each day December 1st through Christmas Day. Each ornament symbol represents a story from the Bible. These stories help to walk you through the lineage of Jesus, starting with creation and ending with his birth.
Included with this Jesse Tree set, you will receive 25 colorful, high-quality, felt embroidered ornaments, a velour drawstring bag for storage and a wooden display tree to hang your ornaments on. You will also receive a colorfully, illustrated pamphlet indicating which ornaments are to be hung each day, the Bible verses associated with each ornament and the chapter in the book, The Jesus Storybook Bible, that is to be read. If you do not have the book, you can simply use a Bible and follow the scriptures outlined in the pamphlet.
Ornaments are machine embroidered on a wool blend felt and then are hand cut and assembled. Each ornament size varies, but are approximately 2″ at the longest length.
The handmade wooden display tree is made using solid wood slats and a wooden star cutout. There are 25 star knobs to hang your ornaments on. Each wood slat is 1/4″ thick and the pieces have been hand-painted and sanded to give it a beautiful rustic look. The tree is approximately 27″ tall and 16″ wide. There is a wall mounting bracket attached so that you can easily display it.
