Note:
Place warm tap water in Carafe to heat cylinder prior to adding the hot liquid. If hot liquid is added to cold carafe, it can cause the glass cylinder to crack therefore not keeping liquids hot.

First of all I like glass vacuum carafes After reading reviews left by others (many of which were negative) I decided to buy this carafe anyway. Why? First I like glass vacuum carafes. They keep liquids hot longer than metal even if the metal is double walled and vacuum filled. The down side too glass is that it will break if you drop it, the solution is don’t drop it. Flimsy, broke in shipment… could have had tragic results. I should have known better than to order a carafe with a GLASS liner, because the inevitable happened. Although the package was in perfect condition, no dents, no bends.. perfect… the carafe arrived broken inside.
