This is amazing and makes great waffles for ice cream bowls!!! We were excited to get this. Used it the first night. We also used less batter to start out with and 1/3 cup is perfect for waffle batter. Half a cup would have overflowed.My only concern is that after first waffle was made the indicator light had condensation in it and by the time we were done, there was a lot that was beading up and dripping inside. That makes me nervous safety wise. Will try again tonight and see what happens.Would love to find out from seller if maybe this is just defective and can swap it out. Works great otherwise and wanna keep it!UPDATE: 7/29/18. Made a few more excellent waffle bowls but, Condensation continues to build up in indicator light housing.UPDATE: 8/5/18. Made breakfast bowls for eggs and bacon. Bowls continue to come out great but the condensation thing makes my wife very uncomfortable safety wise and weâre going to return it. This thing stinks! the products works fine, I have made tortilla bowls and bacon bowls (which was a huge greasy mess) but it smells bad. I have noticed with a lot of newer non stick pans, they have a plasticy chemical smells once they heat up and no amount of washing will get rid of it. That is what this smells like too, so although it works fine, I probably won’t use it often, if at all.
Gluten free waffle cones, YES! I never knew I needed this little appliance until I tried it. (And it is little!)I have been 100% gluten free for 10 years or so for health reasons, and I really miss having waffle cones with my ice cream. Well, I miss it no longer. This magical device heats up quickly and converts GF waffle/pancake mix (I use the Hungry Jack brand mix with sprinkles) into a hot, crispy, wonderful waffle bowl.My only complaint is that it doesnât have a switch or slider to adjust heat/doneness, so you just have to use trial and error to determine how long to leave the bowl cooking for. But this is not bad enough to reduce my 5-Star rating.
