It’s not completely devoid of details, it has a thin criss cross strap, small plate in back, a small heel, a pull strap on one side, and higher on the outsides. It has subtle details and an English equestrian aesthetic, but the almond toe is kinda renaissancy (like princess bride). Give Them A Try. I was nervous to order these after reading some of the reviews regarding tight calf openings and difficulty getting them on and off. These gorgeous boots went on sale and I couldn’t resist (with free returns, it’s risk free!). I found that I ordered my typical size (9) and they fit exactly like all my other Frye boots. I have 15 in calves (soccer player, weight training, blah blah blah) and had no trouble getting them on and off. Of course, if there were a zipper, they would be easier, but…
Really good quality boots Really good quality boots! They are a little stiff, however, it is leather so it was expected. Just need some breaking in. I got the redwood color and really like them…unique. More of a red/black than red/brown. I love how tall they are, I’m 5″7 with long legs and they are right under my knee. I had no trouble getting them in. I normally run 91/2 but got the 9 and they fit good, even a little more room! Happy with them 🙂
