They were all so disappointed when she opened them My mom loves these chocolates, so I ordered her some for Mothers’s Day. My sister took delivery directly from the UPS driver, and kept them in the refrigerator before giving them to my mom today. They were all so disappointed when she opened them, as you can see from the picture, they are completely melted and ruined. Amazon refunded my money, but I would not buy these again from Godiva in the summer.
why time and chocolate don’t mix I do love Godiva chocolates, and I was forewarned by certain reviewers who said the chocolates they received were on the old and disappointing side. But I saw that my particular box would not be available to ship for a few days and thought, “Aha! They’re awaiting a new shipment from Godiva! I’ll get the fresh chocolates, before they’ve sat around the warehouse!” Wishful thinking. I just received them, opened the box, and found the pieces pretty sad-looking, with that cloudy discoloration chocolate gets when it’s advanced in its natural lifespan. It’s a good thing I didn’t mean this for a gift. The lesson I have learned: order directly from Godiva. Or next time, I might order directly from DeBrand — just tried their chocolates and highly recommend them.
🙁 So I love Godiva chocolate. Love. I bought these as a treat for myself. Skillfully hid the box from my children when they were delivered today. Could not wait for them to get in bed fast enough. Open them up…and they all have that white weird coating that is on “old” chocolate. Ok…well they aren’t expired yet according to the box. So I pull out the raspberry one. I’ve had this several times. It was so bad I had to spit it out. I’m so sad b/c I was looking forward to me and my chocolates tonight 🙁 Amazon customer service was great and I’m getting a refund. But I need to toss these.
