  1. Received a card that was not activated I ordered this card for Mother’s Day and I received it without it being activated. It is a good thing I checked it before I gave it to the recipient. It would’ve been very embarrassing to me and the recipient for them to get to the store and find out they could not use it. I should have listen to the other reviews that said their cards were received without being activated as well. I do not recommend buying this because you have no way to ensure it is activated before you receive it. If you do order it, then I recommend checking to ensure it has a balance before giving to someone as a gift.

  2. Do not trust! I purchased this $50 JC Penney gift card. When I checked the balance on it before going to the store, the online balance inquiry didn’t recognize the card number. So I called the JC Penney gift card balance phone line and they told me it was either “inactive or expired.” I went through the Amazon contact us – call me process and was told I had to call JC Penney to activate it! I called JC Penney balance inquiry line again, this time speaking to a human (more or less) and was told that the original purchaser (Amazon) should have had the card activated on point of purchase and that the only way that I could have the card activated would be for Amazon to prove to JC Penney that they had purchased it. In other words, I’m being sent in a revolving door where Amazon & JC Penney need to speak to one another and where I can do nothing but sit back and hope for the best? I’ve since contacted Amazon again, this time via email, and well, the “best” is that I sit back and wait for…

  3. Balance Zero! What a rip off! Bought this during a lightning deal back in March. Finally got to it this past Friday to buy a few things for my brother’s wedding and was told by the sales clerk the balance was ZERO! She ran it again and no luck. There is $40 I’ll never get back.
