Poor quality mic flag designed by someone who has no clue what a mic flag is or is supposed to do. Poor quality product that does what it is intended to do, display a logo on a microphone, but not very well. I just received two of these for two interview mics I use for on-location video. While they look no different than any other mic flag I own, these are distinctly inferior products compared with similarly-priced flags I purchased previously. The foam core is so loose the plastic shell free-spins. This is unacceptable given the plastic is able to clack up against the metal case of the mic itself, and that clacking sound transmits right through the audio feed. Pretty much makes these useless to me. When trying to slide the flag onto the mic, the cap end of the flag easily popped right off and the whole thing fell apart. It is far too easy for these to come apart, and they shouldn’t simply fall to pieces when sliding them onto the mic.Since I need these for an event this weekend, I am stuck with them, but I will need to stuff additional foam into the body and…
A good thing if you need one of these things I bought this to use as a prop for a short film. I didn’t end up using it in the film, but that was because of circumstances that had nothing to do with any problems with it. It’s just right as exactly what it’s supposed to be and will probably get recycled for use in a different project. If you want or need one of these for something I’d recommend one of this one of these..
Wobbles on microphone The square foam donut that holds the flag onto the mic is smaller than the inside of the flag, so the flag wobbles on the mic unless you add foam peanuts inside the flag around the corners. I see this as a design deficiency. The hole in the foam donut also happened to be too large for my mic.
