Keyboard Connector Not Functional, Original Seller Unhelpful Echoing a previous review, my Surface i5 256gb seemed to be working fine, until I tried to connect the keyboard. The magnetic connector is not functional, and the keyboard was never even recognized. I took it to a Microsoft store, and they confirmed that the hardware was indeed the problem, and that I’d have to return it. When I tried to contact the original seller, they never called or emailed me back!
“Preparing Automatic Repairs” *shuts off* I just opened this package an hour ago. It looks nice. I also ordered the keyboard from another distributor. Everything looked great, so I left it to charge for a bit. When I went to turn the Surface a “Preparing Automatic Repairs” message appeared, and then the Surface shut off entirely. I tried a few more times, but nothing worked.I’m setting up the return order right now. I’m curious how intensive that refurbishment was.
Initially I was super nervous buying a refurbished product Initially I was super nervous buying a refurbished product… Especially a 2+ year old computer. I read some of the horror stories and saw the pictures of damaged products, but I took a chance and bought it anyway. The box came 2 days later in a plain white box inside the Amazon box. There was a minimal amount of bubble wrap, but inside the white box was the Surface in a padded bubble sleeve, and a power brick. So far I’m extremely happy with what I received. There are zero scratches…
