Using it with my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 I’ve been looking for a microphone to do interviews with that I could connect to my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and this one is working great. It doesn’t come with any cables which is fine because you can’t use standard XLR cords. It DOES NOT require any external power which makes it perfect to use with an Android device. To connect it you’ll need very specific cables. I ordered a few different cables that didn’t work. Went to local audio stores and they didn’t have anything. Here’s what finally worked: 6Ft XLR Female to 3.5mmm Mono Male Cable and StarTech.com Headset adapter for headsets with separate headphone/microphone plugs – 3.5mm 4 position to 2x 3 position 3.5mm M/F. Plug in, press record, talk into the microphone. Perfect solution!

Customer Video Review Length:: 6:03 Mins I found the mic to be exactly what I expected it to sound like. It is made for close proximity talking so that anything away from the mic like background noise or loud events will not be picked up in the recording. So you have to have it pointed and close to the mouth for it to pick you up loudly and clearly. It’s a great mic to use for noisy environments.
If you can’t afford the EV 635L or RE 50 L then this is a much more affordable alternative for you I stumbled upon this recently while browsing and I was very curious as it reminded me of the older discontinued Electrovoice long handle mics of old it is omnidirectional like the aforementioned models but it’s one inch longer 10 and a half inches like the discontinued RE55 AND It’s predecessor The 655C AND The sound is almost equal to all of the above yet just one db hotter than the others and much less expensive at this price you may want to get more than one it’s very solid and durable and I would recommend it as an All purpose microphone and I’m very pleased to add the Movo HM-M 2 microphone to my home studio mic collection it deserves the 5 star rating.
