It’s movie night, and the swarm of preteen boys in your living room have a case of growing and hunger pains. Fortunately you’re not asking where to buy a pizza stone—you’re prepared with this Old Stone Oven Pizza Stone and cook up a mega pie that feeds the masses. The 16-inch pizza stone and bread stone is crafted from the same firebrick material found inside kilns and blast furnaces, helping procure the pepperoni pie of their dreams. Its material is durable enough to move from your cold fridge and into your hot oven without cracking, even though you might. The best part? The baking stone’s symmetry keeps your pizza toppings tidy and in line, which is more than you can say for your rowdy movie night crowd.Often homemade pizza never tastes the same as a pie from your local pizzeria. However, this baking stone is made of the same firebrick material that lines kilns and blast furnaces and duplicates the results of old stone ovens to produce superior-quality and crispy pizza crust at home with all of your favorite fixings on top. The stone heats evenly and retains heat well so pizzas stay warm for a while after they come out of the oven. The material also withstands thermal shock so uncooked pizzas prepared earlier in the day move from the refrigerator to the oven without producing cracks in the stone. The baking stone has a 16-inch diameter, which is large enough to make a family-sized pie or can also bake rolls, biscuits, or circular-shaped breads. A flat surface area makes it easy to cut and remove slices right from the baking stone. Eight circular stone feet keep the pizza stone uniformly balanced on an oven rack so cheese or toppings wont slide off. –Cristina Vaamonde

Season or don’t season… I say season! After receiving the pizza stone some time last year, I followed the little instructions provided and noticed even out of the box that there was a slight odor to the stone. I thought this odor would go away with use but after making somewhere around two dozen pizza’s on it, the appearance hasn’t changed much besides a few small stains from regular use. The smell has remained each and every time and it appears that it transfers to the pizza a little as well. After doing a lot of reading, there is so much conflicting information for various stones where some say season, the others say don’t, and even chef’s saying you should and shouldn’t. I finally got fed up and decided to season. Worst case scenario I ruin my stone right?I poured regular vegetable oil over the stone and quickly rubbed it around with a paper towel multiple times. The stone wants to absorb it rather quickly. After rubbing down just the top, I placed the stone in my bbq getting it up to about 500 degrees…

Picky Pedantic Pizza Lover finds Purrrrfect Pizza stone!!! Get the 411! I am picky picky picky when it comes to pizza stones. They are too small or too thin, or crack, or smell funny when warmed. Well this was brilliant! We have had it 3 months and do Pizzas 1-2 times a week! It is the purrrrrfect size big enough for a large pizza and not chincy! It is thick and solid without being impossible!!! This lives on the bottom rack of our oven and is heated every-time we cook i there and I couldn’t be happier! No cracks or smells … this is the ONLY one to buy!!! It also seasons well and is a breeze to scrape any extra cheese off that overflows ( yeah you know them pizzas that you add about 8x cheese on?? Uh hu … they work a treat too!).

Great product for the price! This stone is amazing! It’s huge though!…For some reason, I thought it would be a little smaller, but it’s my fault for not reading the size of the actual stone. All in all, my family loves it. We take the frozen pizza from the store, add extra ingredients, and use the stone to cook it. The crust is so crispy, and the pizza ALWAYS tastes great. My only qualm with the product is the weight. It is a pretty heavy stone. I can understand why, but it gets difficult to pick it up sometimes.
