Winner over the new Galaxy Watch for me I’ve been wanting a smart watch for a while now and finally decided to pull the trigger. My biggest criterion were that it had to be reasonably sized, reasonably priced, have GPS, and be able to have offline maps. Beware of updates…it breaks the functionality. This started out as a 5 star review. The Gear S3 paired with my Galaxy S6 flawlessly and worked well. Calls were clear, notifications from texts, Google Hangouts, etc worked great until November 2017 when an update took out notifications appearing on the watch screen. Incoming call and calendar notifications appear….but no texts. $300+ for a wearable that works in part is not of value. And there has been no effort from a Samsung to resolve the issue. Very disappointing.
Great watch that could become awesome. I’ve had my GS3 Frontier watch for 3 days, so I am ready to update some of my initial observations. Unlike a review that I read recently, I wasn’t expecting the unboxing to be an experience unto itself; needless to say, the Frontier isn’t a Rolex.
