Broke after 2 weeks Update: After using this for 2 weeks the tree part stopped working. We could touch the part near the plug to turn it on and off but that defeats the purpose. Two weeks before it stops working completely… Years ago I had a similar product to this – it looked like a standard ball decoration, but it worked as an on/off switch to the tree… it also had a dimmer function so I could get three levels of light intensity. Works about 1 time in 20 Had high hopes for this. Assembled and installed it easily, but when we tested it out, it did not work. My husband walked by and touched it once, and the lights did go out, so we thought maybe it just needed to “warm up.” But did not continue to work. The next morning as I was taking it down to box up for return, it worked once more — but again, immediately stopped working. Possibly just a defective one, but I don’t have the patience to try again.
