Works well. Major flaw resolved with counter weights. The Smooth 4 works very well, but itâs got one minor flaw and one MAJOR design flaw. Note – I use it with an Apple iPhone X, so my comments are from that perspective.The minor one is the ZY Play software. Itâs got several bugs and some of the features donât work as well as they should. That said, bugs can be fixed and apparently Zhiyun is integrating their hardware with Filmic Pro which appears to be very good software. Nevertheless, ZY Play still works well enough enough to produce results.The reason for two stars is the MAJOR design flaw – with a larger phone, especially in a case and with accessories, it can NOT be balanced. Neither Zhiyun nor any other manufacturer have developed a good counter weight system for the Smooth 4.A smart phone with a stabilizer is a great, portable solution for on the go videos. Significant problems with Android App(Problems with Samsung Note 8) The full features of the gimbals with the ZY play app are not available for Android devices, in particular 4K video. I specifically asked the question of whether all features of the gimbal and the ZY play app were available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 thru The Amazon.com website to be answered by Zhiyun Official. The answer came back that all features were available, rest assured; thank you for your concern. After the Smooth 4 shipped on 4/23/18, and after others had received their order and found some features are not available for Android phones (including the note 8); I see the answer to my initial aforementioned question had been changed to reflect that some features are not compatible including 4k video thru the app. ZHIYUN is not being fully transparent about this up front.Like other Android users, i found the app to be useless and constantly crashes on my Samsung Note 8. The Android ZY Play app have very serious issues! The Android ZY Play app have very serious issues! You have been warned. I am a professional videographer so I know how gear works and let me tell you the truth, this app is garbage. I’ve waited patiently for updates for my Samsung Galaxy S8+ and they still haven’t fixed it. As of today here are the things that DO NOT work for Android; 1. 4k doesn’t work, 1080p at 60 frames per second deosn’t work, timelapse doesn’t work, motion timelapse doesn’t work. On top off all that the app constantly crashes and right now I can’t even get it to open. So you have been warned. I’m sending my back tomorrow before my return window closes.
