Taco Bell launches spicy Volcano Quesarito nationwide

WASHINGTON — Taco Bell is turning up the heat this year with the launch of the Volcano Quesarito, a spicy twist on the fan-favorite menu item, now available nationwide. 

The new offering features Taco Bell’s Volcano Sauce, a fiery addition to the brand’s Lava Sauce family. The sauce is designed to deliver the bold flavor and intense heat fans loved from the original Lava Sauce, which earned cult status during its earlier releases.

“We’re always pushing for new ways for our fans to experience the things they love about our menu,” Luis Restrepo, Taco Bell’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “The Volcano Sauce is proof of how we continue to lead in sauce innovation, delivering bold, craveable experiences fans can only get from Taco Bell.”

The Volcano Quesarito includes seasoned beef, seasoned rice and reduced-fat sour cream, all wrapped inside a grilled quesadilla filled with melted cheese, Nacho Cheese sauce and the spicy Volcano Sauce.

The move comes not long after Taco Bell revived fan favorite menu item, the Quesarito. 

According to the fast food chain, there were fan petitions and “countless pleas for its return” after it left the menu. 

“We heard our fans loud and clear,” Restrepo said in December. “Their passion turned the Quesarito into a Taco Bell legend and bringing it back for the holidays felt like the perfect way to celebrate that energy. 

The Volcano Quesarito will be available for $4.99 for a limited time. Customers can also add Volcano Sauce to any menu item or order it on the side.

Taco Bell Rewards members will also get access to an exclusive Volcano Style Menu in the app, featuring spicy versions of popular items including the Volcano Crunchy Taco, Volcano Crunchwrap, Volcano Cheesy G, Volcano Steak Fries and Volcano Nachos BellGrande.
