A recall was issued for the Tippy Toes’ Apple, Pear, Banana product with a “best by” date of July 17, 2026.
WASHINGTON — The maker of Tippy Toes baby food issued a recall Friday for one of its puree products.
A batch of Apple Pear Banana Fruit puree tested by the Food and Drug Administration showed elevated levels of patulin. The product is sold in all U.S. states except Alaska and may have been distributed to the U.S. territories of Guam and Puerto Rico.
Patulin is a naturally occurring substance that is produced by molds that grow in various fruits, including apples. According to the FDA recall notice, long-term exposure can lead to possible adverse health effects, including immune suppression, nerve damage, headache, fever, and nausea.
The FDA said no illnesses connected to the recall have been reported as of Feb. 13.
The product is sold in two-pack plastic tubs with a “best by” date of July 17, 2026.

If you have the recalled product, the FDA advises that you discontinue use, return it at the place where it was purchased or throw it out.
The FDA also urges consumers to contact their health care provider if any health issues arise after consuming the product.
