Trader Joe’s to open 18 new stores in 12 states within 6 months

WASHINGTON — Trader Joe’s is preparing to open 18 new stores across the United States in the coming months, continuing a steady expansion as demand grows for its low-cost, private-label groceries.

The California-based grocer, which operates in 42 states, recently added more than a dozen locations to its “opening soon” list, building on momentum after opening two new stores earlier this year in Hamden, Connecticut, and Miller Place, New York.

The latest wave of openings joins a slate of previously announced stores and will span 12 states: Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Utah and Washington. The company has not announced exact opening dates but told USA Today the stores are expected to open within three to six months.

• Tucson, Arizona — 2150 E Broadway Blvd.
• Woodinville, Washington — 14035 NE Woodinville Duvall Rd.
• Johns Creek, Georgia — 1000 Medley Blvd.
• McKinney, Texas — 8101 Eldorado Pkwy.
• Paso Robles, California — 2457 Golden Hill Rd.
• Anaheim Hills, California — 6336 E Santa Ana Canyon Rd.

Trader Joe’s has opened dozens of stores nationwide over the past two years.
