When does Girl Scout cookie season start?

WASHINGTON — It’s almost Girl Scout cookie season and some things might look a little different. 

While sales typically run from December through March, the timing can vary by state, city and zip code. 

From prices and offerings to order deadlines, here’s what to know about the upcoming Girl Scout cookie season. 

Sales will run from December through March in 2026 but vary depending on local troops. 

In Northern California, cookie sales start January 12, 2026. In Western Ohio, cookie sales begin January 7, 2026. In New Jersey, cookie sales start January 2, 2026. Cookie sales in Southeast Florida have already begun. 

Cookie fans can sign up at girlscoutcookies.org to be notified when sales begin in their area or text “Cookies” to 59618 for updates.

Iconic flavors return this Girl Scout cookie season, but some new flavors are joining them. 

• Adventurefuls: Indulgent brownie-inspired cookies topped with caramel flavored crème with a hint of sea salt
• Caramel Chocolate Chip: Gluten free! Chewy cookies with rich caramel, semisweet chocolate chips, and a hint of sea salt
• Caramel deLites/Samoas: Crisp cookies with caramel, coconut, and chocolaty stripes 
• Peanut Butter Sandwich/Do-si-dos: Crunchy oatmeal sandwich cookies with peanut butter filling
• Exploremores: Sandwich cookies with chocolate, marshmallow, and almond flavored creme
• Lemonades: Savory, refreshing shortbread cookies topped with a tangy lemon-flavored icing
• Lemon-Ups: Crispy lemon cookies baked with inspiring messages
• Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs:  Crispy cookies layered with peanut butter and covered with a chocolaty coating
• Thin Mints: Crisp, chocolate cookies dipped in a delicious mint chocolaty coating
• Toffee-tastic: Gluten free! Rich, buttery cookies with sweet, crunchy toffee bits
• Trefoils: Iconic shortbread cookies inspired by the original Girl Scout Cookie recipe

There is no one flat price for girl scout cookies the way there’s no set run time for the season. Each Girl Scout council sets the price for troops under them, but cookie forms posted online are showing $6 per box of cookies. Typical ranges vary from $5 to $7 a box. 

Prices have increased in recent years due to rising inflation in the costs of raw materials, shipping, printing and labor, according to the Girl Scouts of Chesapeake Bay. They are also raising prices up to $6 per box.
