According to the Cleveland Clinic, a detached retina is a painless but serious condition that needs immediate treatment. It happens when your retina, the layer of tissue in the back of your eye, detaches from the tissues that support it, leading to vision issues and even blindness.
Symptoms can include eye floaters, flashes of light and or a shadow in your vision.
