ATLANTA, Georgia — Last night in Atlanta, Young Thug turned his Hometown Hero benefit concert into one of the year’s most viral hip-hop moments — proposing to longtime partner Mariah The Scientist in front of a sold-out crowd at State Farm Arena.
The moment, captured in a fan video that immediately lit up social media, saw Grammy Award-winning rapper Young Thug, real name Jeffery Lamar Williams, pause his set mid-show, pull out a ring, and get down on one knee as giant screens behind him flashed “Will You Marry Me?” in bold letters.
The surprise engagement comes amid Young Thug’s highly publicized return to live performance, which was part of a headline benefit show celebrating his fourth solo album, UY Scuti.
