LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — Twelve injuries were reported in a crash Monday involving a Forsyth County school bus, Georgia State Patrol said.
None of the injuries were considered life-threatening, GSP added.
The incident happened in Lumpkin County, at the intersection of GA-400 and Lumpkin County Parkway/Burnt Sand Road. 11Alive’s Kyle Ives passed by the crash scene in the morning, where responding vehicles including GSP and Lumpkin County Emergency Services could be seen.
GSP described a two-vehicle crash in which the school bus rear-ended another vehicle. Of the 12 injuries reported, nine were students, one was an adult employee on the bus, one was the driver of the bus and one was driver of the other car.
11Alive has reached out to the Forsyth school district for more information on the incident, including what school it may have involved. Employees at a nearby attraction said they were expecting students for a field trip but were told the tour was canceled after the accident.
