DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — A high school in Douglas County is holding remote learning classes on Wednesday after a water main break.
On Tuesday, the school district announced that in-person classes at Lithia Springs High School for Wednesday were canceled.
Officials said students can stay home, but faculty and staff members have to report to the school building. Teachers will carry on instruction digitally and have assignments posted in Google Classroom.
The school district has not provided an update as to whether remote learning will continue into Thursday, but they are still working to resolve the issue.
The school district provided the following statement:
“We are working closely with our Facility Services team to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
We will continue to keep families updated on the progress. Please expect an update by 5:00 pm on Wednesday about in-person learning on Thursday.
The safety and education of our students will always be our top priority, and we will continue working to resolve the issue.”
