
First responders on scene told 11Alive’s Doug Turnbull that the mother and child are on the way to the hospital and they are both healthy.
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County dispatch said a baby was born on the side of Highway 285 early Friday morning.
According to dispatch, it happened on Highway 285. This is the road that the Georgia Department of Transportation blocked some lanes due to flooding at around 5 a.m.
Dispatch was not able to provide the exact location where the mother delivered her bundle of joy.
11Alive Traffic reporter Doug Turnbull said it happened on 285 northbound near Exit 41 at Memorial Drive. First responder vehicles were seen in the area, where a right lane was blocked off as crews helped the woman with her delivery.
