Further testing, including more testing of the original lot, “found no elevated levels of lead in the product.”

WASHINGTON — A health alert was retracted nearly a week after the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said dinosaur-shaped nuggets sold at Walmart posed a potential lead contamination.

The alert, which has now been replaced by the retraction notice, said further testing, including more testing of the original lot, “found no elevated levels of lead in the product.”

“FSIS has therefore concluded that the product does not pose a public health concern,” the updated alert said.

The now retracted alert impacted 29-oz. plastic bags called “GREAT VALUE FULLY COOKED DINO SHAPED CHICKEN BREAST NUGGETS” with the “Great Value” logo on the bag. The bags have a “best if used by” date of Feb. 10, 2027, lot code “0416DPO1215” and establishment number “P44164,” according to FSIS.

They were sold at Walmart locations nationwide prior to the original health alert being issued.

No recall was issued since the products were no longer sold in stores.
